Elders Profiles

New elder profiles from the 2021 Census Aboriginal Population Profiles are now available in Nunivaat. They cover different age groups from 55 to 75+ and are broken down by gender. They contain a wide range of data, including education, income, families and households, employment, mobility, marital status and more. These data are available according to aboriginal and non-aboriginal identity. The profiles can be consulted in the Elders indicator.

Metadata Update

Metadata are documents that explain the characteristics of data including dictionaries, definitions, classifications, methodology used for data collection and processing, etc. This section of Nunivaat has just undergone a major update. Most of the metadata relating to the 2021 population census have been added, and those concerning data published by the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ) have been greatly enhanced. They can be consulted in the section reserved for this purpose.

Grocery Price Trends in Nunavik 2016-2023.

The Nunivaat Analytics is a series of analytical bulletins that explores, with the help of statistics, different aspects of the social and economic situation of the Nunavik region. Based on a subset of panel data from the most recent studies conducted within the Nunivaat program, the new release, entitled "Grocery Price Trends in Nunavik 2016-2023", aims to measure the trends in grocery prices in Nunavik in recent years and compare them with those observed for Quebec as a whole.

Fire statistics for 2022

The fire statistics for 2022 are now available in Nunivaat. They provide information about the material losses due to fires, the number of fire by village, the main use of buildings involved in a fire, the most common sources of ignition and the most common causes of fire. These data can be consulted in the statistics section under the Public Security/Fires.

Nunivaat Research Program
The Nunivaat Research Program is devoted to the development of knowledge through statistical tools and researches, in order to support public decision in Nunavik. It includes the design and the execution of special statistical surveys, and the preparation of statistical reports.
