We are pleased to announce that Nunivaat now has a new section whose purpose is to highlight some publications that deserve special attention. The Fact sheets are short statistical portraits based on the most recent Census, giving a quick glance of the Nunavik region or a specific village. The Fact sheets compiled by the Nunivaat team display data about population, dwellings, language, education, households, income and manpower. The data comes from the 2021 Census. They can be consulted on the Map page.
The Nunivaat team is currently working to add the 2021 Census data. This data is available by village. The datasets included so far relate to age groups, types of dwelling and conditions of housing, families and households, and marital status of individuals. Other datasets, including income, education and labour market will be added soon.
The Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation du Québec (MAMH) released the 2023 Population Decree for the Northern villages. These data are the benchmark for the application of laws and regulations as well as for the management of government programs. They can be consulted here.
